TERMS OF USE
1. Introduction
Welcome to Basudo (“Company”, “we”, “our”, “us”)! These Terms of Service (“Terms”, “Terms of Use”) govern your use of our website, mobile app, and related platforms (together or individually, the “Service”) operated by Basudo Technologies Limited.
Our Privacy Policy also governs your use of our Service and explains how we collect, use, safeguard, and disclose information that results from your interaction with our platform.
Your agreement with us includes these Terms and our Privacy Policy (“Agreements”). You acknowledge that you have read and understood the Agreements and agree to be bound by them.
If you do not agree with (or cannot comply with) these Agreements, you may not use the Service. However, please let us know by emailing basudoco@basudo.com.ng so we can try to find a solution.
These Terms apply to all visitors, users, student chefs, and anyone who wishes to access or use the Service.
2. Communications
By using our Service, you agree to subscribe to newsletters, notifications, marketing or promotional materials, and other information we may send.
However, you may opt out of receiving some or all of these communications by following the unsubscribe link or emailing basudoco@basudo.com.
3. Purchases
If you make any purchase or order food through the Service (“Purchase”), you may be required to provide information relevant to your transaction including, but not limited to, your payment method details, delivery location, and contact information.
You represent and warrant that:
(i) You have the legal right to use any payment method submitted.
(ii) The information you provide is true, correct, and complete.
We may use third-party payment processors to facilitate purchases. By submitting your information, you authorize us to share it with these third parties subject to our Privacy Policy.
We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order at our sole discretion for reasons including, but not limited to:
Item unavailability
Errors in pricing or description
Issues with your order
Suspected fraud or unauthorized activity
Important:
Basudo is a marketplace. The meals are prepared by independent student chefs, not Basudo. By placing an order, you acknowledge that Basudo does not cook, produce, or own the meals sold on the platform.
4. Contests, Sweepstakes and Promotions
Any promotions (“Promotions”) made available through the Service may be governed by rules separate from these Terms. If you participate in any Promotion, please review the applicable rules and our Privacy Policy.
If Promotion rules conflict with these Terms, the Promotion rules apply.
5. Refunds
Basudo does not offer refunds on food purchases.
However, in cases where there is a verified issue caused by Basudo or a student chef (e.g., missing items, wrong delivery, major quality concerns), compensation may be issued as credits or replacement at our discretion.
6. Content
All content displayed on or through the Service is the property of Basudo Technologies Limited or used with permission.
You may not copy, distribute, modify, broadcast, reuse, download, or use such content for commercial or personal gain without our written consent.
7. Prohibited Uses
You may use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to use the Service:

0.2 To harm or exploit minors
0.3 To transmit unsolicited promotional material (“spam”)
0.4 To impersonate Basudo, an employee, another user, or any entity
0.5 For unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful activities
0.6 In a way that restricts or inhibits others from using the Service
You further agree not to:
0.1 Damage or overload the Service
0.2 Use robots or scraping tools
0.3 Copy material manually without consent
0.4 Interfere with the Service’s operation
0.5 Upload malware or harmful code
0.6 Attempt unauthorized access
0.7 Attempt denial-of-service attacks
0.8 Manipulate ratings or reviews
0.9 Interfere with the platform in any unlawful manner
8. Analytics
We may use third-party tools to monitor and analyze Service usage.
9. Accounts
When you create an account, you warrant that the information you provide is accurate and complete. You are responsible for maintaining confidentiality of your login details and for all activities occurring under your account.
You must notify us immediately of unauthorized account activity.
You may not use:
A name you lack rights to
A trademarked name without authorization
Offensive or obscene usernames
We reserve the right to refuse service, terminate accounts, or cancel orders at our discretion.
10. Intellectual Property
The Service and its original content (excluding user-generated content), features, and functionality are and remain the property of Basudo Technologies and its licensors.
Our trademarks may not be used without written permission.
11. Copyright Policy
We respect intellectual property rights. If you believe content on our platform infringes your copyright, contact basudoco@basudo.com with a detailed claim.
You may be liable for damages if you knowingly submit false infringement claims.
12. DMCA Notice and Procedure
To submit a DMCA complaint, provide:

(i) You hold no IP rights over the feedback
(ii) Basudo may use similar ideas
(iii) Feedback is non-confidential
(iv) Basudo may use or modify feedback freely
14. Links to Other Websites
Our Service may contain links to third-party websites not controlled by Basudo. We are not responsible for their content, practices, or policies.
You acknowledge Basudo is not liable for any loss or damage caused by third-party sites.
15. Disclaimer of Warranty
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind.
We do not guarantee:
Accuracy
Reliability
Continuous uptime
Error-free operation
Security
Virus-free servers
We disclaim all implied warranties to the extent permitted by law.
16. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Basudo and its officers, staff, and affiliates shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.
Basudo’s total liability, if any, shall not exceed the amount paid for the service directly affected by the issue.
17. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your account, without notice, for any reason including violation of these Terms.
If you wish to terminate your account, simply stop using the Service.
Certain sections of these Terms survive termination.
18. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, without regard to conflict of law rules.
19. Changes to Service
We may modify, suspend, or withdraw any part of the Service at any time without notice.

21. Waiver and Severability
