Basudo - Connecting Students Through Food

The Founder's Story

Sunday Odu (Co-Founder / CEO)

Basudo was born out of a personal struggle—one that many students quietly face.

In school, I constantly struggled to access quality, homemade meals that I could afford. The available options from local food vendors and cafeterias were either too expensive, poorly prepared, unhygienic, or lacked the quality my body needed. My health paid the price. Twice, I missed semester exams and tests because I fell seriously ill due to poor nutrition.

But in the middle of that struggle, I noticed something interesting: Many of my friends and coursemates loved to cook. Some even sold their meals to earn a little extra income. Their food was delicious, affordable, and homemade—but they lacked structure and visibility, and ultimately made little to no profit.

Then the question hit me: What if we connected students who need quality, affordable meals directly with students who love to cook and sell? A simple idea. A powerful solution. And that’s how Basudo was born.

Basudo is a peer-to-peer food platform built to help students eat better, spend less, and empower fellow students to earn from their skills. Basudo is more than a food service—it’s a student-powered ecosystem, created from real challenges, designed to make campus life healthier, easier, and more connected.
